Description: A German industrial avant-garde rock band active between 1980 and 1984. It was started by Johannes VESTER (b. 1949) and Ludwig PAPENBERG (b. 1947), who prior to that had played in krautrock bands P.O.T. (PART OF TIME) and SAND in the early 1970s. Occasionally, they were joined by a vocalist and drummer going by the pseudonym NADJA. Inspired by the output of KRAFTWERK, D.A.F., NEU!, SUICIDE and DER PLAN, their works relied on the metallic sound of synthesizers, psychedelic and hypnotic guitar phrases and neurotic vocals. The major theme VESTER’s lyrics was the horror of dehumanization of people living in large cities, decay of emotions, mass madness and death.
