Shadyside, Ohio and Pittsburgh, PA (USA) based experimental ambient/industrial group active in the 1980s. The Psychic Workshop was formed during the world-wide 'Mail-Art' scene that developed in the mid-through-late 1980's. The group, which was William Clay, from Pittsburgh, PA [USA] and Peter Paul Seva from Shadyside, OH [USA], had 2 official releases as The Psychic Workshop: 'The Psychic Workshop' [PWC005] (1987) and 'cum all ye faithful' [SSS7] {through SSS Records, Pittsburgh, PA} (1987). 'Better Awareness Through Fear' was an independent release from 1988. The cassette 'only' album, which was limited to #100 copies, contained 4 songs that had been released previously by 'The Psychic Workshop'; including 1 new song and a 'Live' radio version of the song 'SWARM'. Two additional albums were recorded but never released. They were titled, 'ReCycled Music: ONE' and 'ReCycled Music: TWO', respectively. The group dissolved in late 1988 to early 1989. William Clay continues to write, record and perform; currently going by the name of ' Will Clay ' as well as 'lastfairdeal'. The where-about's of Peter Paul Seva are unknown. William Clay has scheduled the release of a 3 volume set of The Psychic Workshop; tentatively called 'The Psychic Workshop: THE FINAL TRANSMISSIONS Vols. 1-3', for the Spring of 2011. The set will include remastered versions of the material that had been previously released, as well as material that had been recorded and never released; including, material released under a number of different aliases.
